Media Laws

During the United States Opening, cute little kids were reciting the pledge of Allegiance and the phrase, "Under God" was censored out.  NBC did this to not anger people but it had the reverse effect.  The majority of America are very angry and the CEO of NBC had to come out and expressed their apologies.  Do they have the rights to do this?  Under God is a central part of the pledge and it seems as if it's an attack on Christianity.  If NBC was broadcasting a sport show in Islam, would their allegiance pledging loyalty to their god be censored out?  Most likely not.
